Edmond Rodriguez promoted to Maintenance Supervisor at Northpointe

Congratulations to Edmond Rodriguez on his promotion to Maintenance Supervisor at NorthPointe Student Apartments!

Edmond was born in Visalia, CA, and has been in maintenance for 30 years. He began with the California Department of Recreation and worked there for 11 years, which included a promotion to Lead Tech.  This prepared him for his role of Maintenance Director for a nursing home, a position he held for 7 years. After moving to Arizona with a home development company and pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit owning his handy business, Edmond moved into the apartment industry in May of 2012.
Edmond came on board with Homestead U when the company acquired The Ranch at Star Pass, and transferred to NorthPointe in January.  Edmond has been a huge asset to the property during the transitions within the maintenance department; we are very happy to have him as part of the NorthPointe and Homestead UTeam!

Everyone had a great time at the 2013 CAA Expo! Homestead America made their presence known in their red “You Mustache Me about Homestead America” t-shirts. The team played their own scavenger hunt during the expo, of which those who completed the tasks were put into a drawing to win prizes at the after-party at El Vaquero. Now the question remains, how will the company top this next year?

Donna Grove and her Locks of Love.

183 (2)University Village Maintenance Manager, Donna Grove, has donated more than 12 inches of her hair to Locks of Love for the 4th time.  This time it was 18 1/2 inches!
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
Donna Said “I have a firm belief that when you give a part of yourself, not only do you grow as a person and soul, it will eventually come back to you in a way you never imagined.  You can give time to a child or lonely elder, money to someone in need when you have it, patience when someone really needs it, a smiley face at the end of an email or note, a quiet ear or shoulder when someone needs to vent, or simply hair that can help make a child with cancer feel less singled out.  And a smile with a nice comment to a stranger goes a long way (especially those strangers that you see every day and just walk past)!”

–How OSU’s landmark apartment complex is upgrading the resident and leasing experience –

Columbus, OH (February 8, 2013) University Village has undergone a major renovation of their office headquarters at 505 Harley Drive.  The leasing office, models, entryways and hallways, fitness center, computer lab and tanning room all have a fresh new look.

“We wanted something new and modern, to reflect the energetic, dynamic personalities of not only our onsite team, but of our residents as well,” says Laura Formica, Director of Marketing for Homestead U.  Today’s students are much more aesthetically inclined, and we wanted our décor to reflect that in a really fun, cool way.”
