Columbus Pacific Acquires 528 Bed, Class-A Pedestrian Student Housing Property at the University of Virginia

(February 1, 2017) – Columbus Pacific (CP) has acquired The Pavilion at North Grounds, a 300 unit, 528 bed luxury student housing community adjacent to the Darden School of Business and the University of Virginia School of Law in Charlottesville, Virginia. The acquisition was financed with a $58.1M 10-year-fixed-rate loan at an all-in rate of 4.08% arranged by Brian Eisendrath and Cameron Chalfant at CBRE.

CP will strategically invest $1M to upgrade the amenities with new pool furniture, refreshed pool area, an outdoor dog park and enhance the front lobby to include a more functional and modern gourmet cyber café. Additionally, the Homestead U management team will execute a plan to elevate the internet and customer service experience and improve the property’s competitive appeal in the market.

“The Pavilion at North Grounds is a unique asset where its pedestrian location and captive audience will allow us to achieve elevated annual rental growth due to the lack of competitive properties,” says Brian Shirken, co-founder and principal of Columbus Pacific.

“It was a seamless transition and the on-site team has been great to work with.” Said Guy Purington, Yardi Specialist.

Race for the Cure – Saturday, May 20th 2017

Posted by:

As most of you know, one of our beloved employees, Cheryl Davis, is still battling breast cancer for the second time!  It has been a long road, but she continues to fight the fight!  Unfortunately, we have just found out that another beloved, long-term employee has also been recently diagnosed.  Donna Grove, our Director of Maintenance in Athens, has just started her fight against this vile disease!

To support and honor both of these strong women in their fight, Homestead America/U is once again participating in this year’s Race for the Cure, on Saturday, May 20th, in downtown Columbus.  Please help us by joining our team, Cheryl and Donna’s HAHU Crusaders!

As an employee, Homestead will pay your registration fee.  You will just need to use the Discount Code of HAHU17.  We welcome you to bring your family and friends, but please only use the Discount Code for your registration.  Unless you specifically want to do otherwise, we will be participating in the 1 Mile Family Fun Walk, so all ages and fitness levels can participate.

More details will be given as we get closer, but we will again meet at the office in the morning, and one of the UV buses will drop us off closer to the starting line.  This way, everyone can park here, and we can all go over together.

To join Cheryl and Donna’s Crusaders, click on the link below.  Click on Register, and Join A Team.  It will ask you if you have every participated before.  If you have, it will ask you sign in.  If you have not, it will ask you to create an account.  From there, it will ask you to Find a Team by Name or by Captain.  If you enter Cheryl and Donna, it will pull up our team.  You can also search by Captain, which is Kelly Funk.

Please register by Friday April 7th.
